The Striped Gown

The Striped Gown

Photo/Source

This striped gown is what I wore to my friend Brittney Palmer‘s wedding a few weeks ago. The wedding was gorgeous, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in a grand mansion that we heard was once owned by Marilyn Monroe herself. Brittney looked like a goddess and even the bride’s maid’s dresses were gorgeous. Roger and I decided to coordinate rather than match and we both wore our favorite designers.. Roger is a huge fan of Hugo Boss and my favorite designer for years now, as you may know, is Jessica Simpson. Now, this dress in particular reminded me of a dress I saw a couple years ago on the runway- you know the one… Anyway, when I saw this gown in the Jessica Simpson SS/14 lookbook I totally flipped- it’s my dream gown for literally a fraction of the price, made by my favorite designer, which so happens to fit like a glove… If you are like me, and became totally addicted to this dress, you can get your fix here.

Roger as I mentioned above loves Hugo Boss, he looks great in their sports jackets and we found this suit at Bloomingdales a few weeks ago and we actually got him this shirt from Ted Baker at an event on one of our first dates. He also wore an onyx, sapphire, and gold plated set of cufflinks and a John Varvatos tie which I picked out blindly but it ended up being perfect. Roger wanted it to be a little bold with stripes going in different directions and I think it really worked- I loved it!

I wore my new Nudist heels by Stuart Weiztman not knowing we’d be walking around in grass, or also that my shoes wouldn’t show at all, but I still loved the full look, especially my DIY bag!

P.S. I wore a petty coat (like a bussle or a fluffy underskirt thing- if that makes sense) to make my dress really poof out and flow like the ODLR version… it was $40 at a vintage store but made all the difference!

Thanks so much for reading!
